July and August have been odd. Restless and mind-heavy, seeking times. but with many beautiful moments. It’s easy, when you’re alone with your own head a lot of the time, to forget what else is happening in your life. I flicked through my camera. Plenty, as it happens.
We went to north Ullapool and met a woman who lives off grid, in the forest…
..and stayed in one of her many dinky old caravans.
Midge protection. Those tiny buggers are fierce right now.
It’s August. The light grows prettier every day.
We took a trip to Manchester to hand Empress over to her new owners. One last look at a previous life. Good memories. She was home for us.
I returned to my favourite wasteland spot for mugwort, gathered a few bunches, brought them north.
I’m learning to paint with watercolours. I’m not very good, but I like it. (Also: my mum retired!)
We’re looking for our next home…
…and building our own.
Marylou has been facilitating some of the design process.
I got a new tarot deck! The Circo Tarot, by Marisa de la Peña.
These guys follow me everywhere.
We went way, way north, to Scourie, and swam here.
In the bird hide, a shell collection, and children’s art.
Some facts about a hoodie crow:
The first of the rowan berries are coming out, bright, bold, blood red beads. The rowan is such a special tree.
And look what we found in the woods!
Autumn comes. My favourite.
I’m a 30-something writer, artist, tarot reader, and perpetual explorer of the space between thought, feeling, and action.
I believe that spirituality and ritual are for everybody. I’m about the journey, in all of its messy, non-linear, chaotic iterations. I am excited by anticapitalist business and living with my whole entire self present. I use tarot cards to bring forth hidden truth, and ritual to affirm my commitment, over and over, to my ever-shifting path.
I couldn’t love this more. 🙂
The two of you are certainly having some fine adventures 🙂
Autumn is my favorite too, but your writing towards the end of this summer has been exceptional. You are so brave, how openly you share your ups and down. Sending love.
I’m so happy to see all those sweet things that happened to your recently!
Thanks Sacha!
A beautiful piece of writing…thank you for sharing. I am so interested in balancing the swords. Our minds are at once so exquisite and misunderstood. Many blessings on your path. <3
