Not so much about conflict as about fighting my own corner…and having fun with it. I thought about work – my small team – we share the same goal, but our paths to reach this are so different…I’ve been feeling this strongly all week. The five of Wands reminds me to stick with my convictions and ride out the difficulties – don’t worry, things won’t get nasty. “Conflict without emnity.”
The card shown is from the Shadowscapes Tarot by Stephanie Law – she attributes meanings such as ‘fighting against the flow’ and ‘rising to the challenge’…I love the surging army of foxes and hares rushing by, almost engulfing the guy in the centre. This made me think of ‘a rising tide’ …and certainly at work I feel the differences in myself and my team-mates’ working styles are swelling. The five of Wands encourages me not to let myself get swept away with this. I check out that wandy guy in the centre striding forth serenely – he looks like he’s enjoying the challenge, he looks confident, his wand shining out ahead so he doesn’t lose track of his own goals.
I’m a 30-something writer, artist, tarot reader, and perpetual explorer of the space between thought, feeling, and action.
I believe that spirituality and ritual are for everybody. I’m about the journey, in all of its messy, non-linear, chaotic iterations. I am excited by anticapitalist business and living with my whole entire self present. I use tarot cards to bring forth hidden truth, and ritual to affirm my commitment, over and over, to my ever-shifting path.
