Earth, air, fire or water?
Each of us is made up of these elements – we are a constantly-changing blend of all four. But sometimes, to make something happen, move forwards, press pause or manage our lives, we need to bring in a little extra of one or another.
That’s why I created my four elements jewellery.
I initially made them for myself, to help me channel the extra elements I needed at different times. When I moved aboard my boat, for example, I had real trouble nesting and feeling at home – my earth pendant helped me to do this.
And when I’m doing tarot readings for my lovely clients, I wear my water pendant to help me access my intuition. Each element brings me strength in different situations, reminding me of the many resources I have at my disposal, and my power to draw on these when I need to.
This is the you that creates a home, that builds stuff, that grounds your magic in the everyday. This is nourishment, health, sex, craft, nature and sensuality. This pendant is to help you ground yourself in reality, to touch and taste and appreciate the world around you, and for strength and good health.
Earth is found in the pentacles suit in tarot. Earth signs are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.
This is the you that thinks and plans, that cuts through the crap and gets to the heart of what’s going on. When you bring more air into a situation, you bring clarity and foresight and vision. This pendant is for when you need extra help thinking things through and coming to a wise, clear-headed decision.
In tarot, air is the suit of swords. Air signs are Aquarius, Gemini and Libra
It’s the thing that makes you you – your passion and drive, your inspiration. This is the you that has great ideas, starts projects, makes stuff happen. This is you at your most self-assured, going after what you want – this pendant helps you to access that inner confidence and manifest your ideas.
Fire is represented by the tarot suit of wands. Fire signs are Aries, Leo and Saggitarius.
This is your emotional self – the you that feels, that reads between the lines, that knows something deeper. This pendant helps you to access your intuition, and listen more closely to your heart, so that you can be true to yourself and love purely and generously.
Water is found in the suit of cups in tarot. Water signs are Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio
It’s a simple principle.
Wear the pendant that you feel you need, to help you draw on its energy and do what you need to do.
Cards from The Wild Unknown Tarot, by Kim Krans
It’s kinda like being The Magician, with her tools all set out in front of her, or Temperance, cleverly blending the elements to achieve harmony and balance – except you can put these around your neck and wear them!
I’m a 30-something writer, artist, tarot reader, and perpetual explorer of the space between thought, feeling, and action.
I believe that spirituality and ritual are for everybody. I’m about the journey, in all of its messy, non-linear, chaotic iterations. I am excited by anticapitalist business and living with my whole entire self present. I use tarot cards to bring forth hidden truth, and ritual to affirm my commitment, over and over, to my ever-shifting path.
